Traditional Christmas Fayre in two historic venues

Traditional Christmas Fayre in two historic venues

Traditional Christmas Fayre is being served in two unique historic venues at The Historic Dockyard Chatham this festive season - Commissioner’s House, built in 1704 as the home of the Resident Commissioner, his family and servants and the Wheelwrights’ Restaurant, where wheels for the dockyard’s carts were made and repaired and the finer work of making ships’ steering-wheels was carried out. Guests are invited to enjoy a superb traditional Christmas dining experience at Commissioner’s House or a carvery style Christmas Lunch in Wheelwrights’ Restaurant.

Commissioner’s House – one of Medway’s most attractive and historic venues within the rich heritage environment of The Historic Dockyard – is offering an evening of seasonal hospitality within the Georgian ambience of Britain’s oldest Naval building. Guests will enjoy a sparkling Kentish reception with a glass of Chapel Down sparkling wine whilst a solo soprano entertains, followed by a sumptuous four-course dinner for £42.50 (inc VAT) per person. Dates are available throughout December and advance booking is required to avoid disappointment.

If lunchtime is more convenient, then Wheelwrights’ Restaurant is the place to be for a more relaxed carvery-style Christmas fayre with colleagues or friends, between 12.00 noon and 3.00 pm. Two courses are just £12.00 (inc VAT) per person and three courses at £17.00 (inc VAT) offering great value for money. Lunches are available from Friday 18 November to Sunday 27 November without a reservation and from Monday 28 November to Friday 23 December when reservations in advance are required and the minimum numbers are 12.
