Fresh ideas
A travel show certainly worth visiting in 2008 is the British Travel Trade Fair (BTTF), from 11 to 12 March at the NEC Birmingham. The theme this year is ‘Fresh’, so group organisers can expect to see a range of new exhibitors bringing fresh ideas for group days out. You’ll find over 300 suppliers of attractions, theatres, hotels, heritage sites, gardens and destinations throughout Britain to help you plan for the year ahead. First time exhibitors include Irish attractions, Abbey Court Hotel, International Hotel and Saoire Failte, which specialise in tailor-made itineraries to Ireland. Visitors to BTTF can also sample local delicacies and fresh food on a number of stands, and there are some exciting giveaways too. The Isle of Wight Tourism will be giving away pots of garlic and the chance to sample Vampires Extreme, Cheeky Monkey and Fig, and Apple and Ginger chutney. For further information about attending the BTTF, visit the website below.

An inspirational day
The Brentwood Centre in Essex will once again play host to The Tourism and Leisure Show, which provides inspiration for great days out and short breaks. Organised by the Essex Tourism Association and now in its 12th year, exhibitors will span from the East and South of England, London, and other areas of the UK. Group organisers will find all the information they need under one roof for planning their trips for 2008 and beyond. You will also find demonstrations by local craftspeople, and get the chance to sample a range of food from The Cookery Workshop throughout the day. There’s also a ‘Happy Hour’ between 3 and 4pm, where all visitors will receive a free gift from Real Essex, and free entrance tickets to Squerryes Court in Kent for 2008.
