From first mates to primates we're tracking down some of the ost exciting days out for groups in this part of the country.
Land ahoy!
From 10 February it's the survival of the fittest at the National Maritime Museum Cornwall in Falmouth.   The new Endurance & Survival exhibition tells the stories of some of the UK's most famous adventurers, including Ellen MacArthur, Shackleton, Tony Bullimore & Robin Knox-Johnston.

The exhibition also looks at some lesser-known heroes who've coped with danger.   Take the Robertsons: the family of six survived on a bag of onions for 38 days in a nine-foot dinghy.   Their boat the Ednamair is on display, as well as a slew of newly discovered objects & hands-on survival exhibits.

Besides the Endurance & Survival exhibit there's a 29-metre tower where you can take in some of the region's stunning seascapes, a natural underwater-viewing location & the chance to get out on the water.   Visit www.nmmc.co.uk for more.

 
What's New?

Monkey business

And you thought you were safe!   Bristol Zoo Gardens is turning its monkey house inside-out to create a new monkey jungle.   This summer you'll be able to get up-close & personal with the lemur in a forest where monkeys mingle with gorillas.
