In The Heart of It

With so much to see and do in The Heart of England it’s easy to miss out on some of the area’s best attractions. So to help you plan your travels we’ve come up with the best places to visit. Whether it’s hotels, tours or safari parks, there’s something for everyone.

Flying the flag for England

Blue Badge Tourist Guide offers group trips all over the Heart of England, including Stratford-upon-Avon, Coventry, Royal Leamington Spa, the Cotswolds and Birmingham. Set up by Roger Bailey, Blue Badge was established over 50 years ago, and the badge itself is awarded only to those guides who pass the rigorous exams, making them uniquely qualified to look after guests. A Blue Badge Tourist Guide can show your group the best an area has to offer, including visits to cathedrals, battle locations and historical events. They also offer conference delegates and VIPs services, meet and greets, air and hotel transfers and shopping breaks. To find out more about Blue Bagde Tourist Guide have a look at their website or give them a call on the number below.

Wild at heart
To bring out the softer side of your group visit West Midland Safari Park, which has just announced the birth of the first ever white lion cubs to be born in the UK. Four of the rare white lions first arrived from Africa in 2004, following the park’s biggest single animal investment, costing £0.25m – and now, little more than two years on, seeing four cubs is a dream come true for the park, and especially its dedicated team of keepers. We reckon your group will be pretty excited, too… The park is open 10am daily, including Bank Holidays, until Friday 2 November 2007. You can get further information on the website and number below.

A peak attraction

The Heights of Abraham in the Peak District is most famous for its spectacular cable car ride – and it’s certainly the best way to explore the amazing show caverns deep under the hillside or take in the stunning views from the cliff top high above the Derwent Valley. Add in some great places to eat and drink, including Summit Bar or the Hi Café, which are open all day, and you’ve got a proper group day out. And if there are 20 or more of you you’ll qualify for discounts, plus free entry for the group-travel organizer. To find out more visit their website or ring them on the number below.

The great race

Wolverhampton Racecourse was Britain's first floodlit horse racing track, so they’ve got plenty of experience when it comes to creating a unique and electric atmosphere for day and night racing. And on Saturday evenings, following the last race, you can enjoy the course’s entertainment, which ranges from tribute acts, through to Irish and soul nights, and Christmas parties. Racing takes place all year round, and they’d be happy to tailor a package to suit your group’s requirements. To make sure your group doesn’t miss out visit their website or give them a call on the number below.
