Late summer and autumn are great times to visit RHS Garden Harlow Carr, situated on the outskirts of the beautiful spa town of Harrogate. Its revamped Pirate & Whale Border looks stunning with huge whales, a pirate galleon, and a mermaid cleverly woven from living willow. There’s also plenty to inspire visitors in the Kitchen Garden, Scented Garden, Gardens through Time, and along the Streamside. Events to look out for include Arts Month in July, Grow your own Veg Day in August, and A Taste of Autumn in October. Victorian tour
Theakston Brewery Visitor Centre, located in the picturesque market town of Masham, North Yorkshire, is best known for its legendary Old Peculier. Tours of the original Victorian ‘tower’ brewery are available everyday and follow the entire brewing process, from blending the ingredients to filling the casks. Tours last approximately 45 minutes and include a complimentary pint of their legendary beer in the Brewery Tap. There is also a working Cooperage where the traditional wooden casks are hand-crafted by one of the last two craft brewery coopers in the country. You’ll also find a gift shop within the Visitor Centre, which is stocked full of souvenirs, enabling you to take home a memory of your visit.
