Life on the ice
Romanza is the latest production from Holiday on Ice, taking audiences on a journey through some of the most romantic stories from past to present. Touring the UK in the company’s 65th year, the show will mark Holiday on Ice’s return to Wembley Arena as well as the much-loved venues of Brighton, Cardiff and Exeter. The show features dance and theatrical techniques from classics such as Madame Butterfly, Romeo & Juliet, Anthony & Cleopatra, together with modern day couples Sandy & Danny from Grease, Baby & Johnny from Dirty Dancing and even Barbie & Ken! Let it snow
Celebrating 10-years on the stage, the live version of Raymond Briggs’ much-loved classic, The Snowman, returns to London’s Peacock Theatre from 5 December 2007 to 6 January 2008. Sparkling with charm and wit, The Snowman tells the magical story of a young boy’s adventures when his snowman comes to life on Christmas Eve. The show features a dazzling array of colourful characters including dancing penguins, magical reindeers, a beautiful snow princess and her wicked beau Jack Frost, and of course, Father Christmas himself. Show time
Now in its 12th year, Oxford’s Creation Theatre Company has some great shows coming up for groups. The winter season sees the company performing its 2007 Christmas show in a 99-year old Mirror Tent. From 21 November to 12 January 2008, Tales from the Brothers Grimm will feature a variety of fairytales for your group to enjoy including, Snow White, Little Red Riding Hood, and Rumpelstiltskin, all told in Creation’s trademark visual style. On-site catering is also available to make your visit a Christmas treat to remember. The boys are back in town
Sinbad the Sailor is back at York Theatre Royal from 13 December 2007 to 2 February 2008, and provides groups with an unforgettable experience, filled with fun, laughter and a few surprises. The show tells the story of the most powerful book of spells ever written, which falls to earth from outer space. Warlock, an evil alien is then dispatched to find the book and uses its contents to destroy Planet Earth. Sinbad then sets off on a comic adventure to save the world from the evil clutches of Warlock. Expect breathtaking sets and costumes, with special group discounts available.
